The 0GB paradox, and why no app is the feature.

Every eSIM store eventually asks you to download their app. Think about when: you need data to get the app, and the app to get data. That's the 0GB dead-end: standing in arrivals, airport WiFi failing, staring at a spinning wheel.

Touchdown is a link. It arrives over SMS or email while you still have home data, taps straight into Settings, and the eSIM installs before you ever leave the house. There is nothing to download at the airport, because there was never an app.

Here's the trap nobody warns you about: your home SIM's data roaming. Land abroad with it on and your carrier starts billing by the megabyte: that's the $180 bill that haunts this page. The eSIM stores don't check it. They sold you a bucket; your settings are your problem.

Do I need an app?

No. Ever. You buy on the web and install from a link in email or SMS. At 0 GB you can't download an app: that is exactly why we never ask you to.

What if my phone can't take an eSIM?

The product needs an eSIM phone: iPhone XS and later, most post-2019 Androids. We say which phones work before you buy, so you never find out at the gate. If your phone is eSIM-capable (iPhone XS and later, most post-2019 Androids), you're fine.

What exactly is the Travel Mode check?

Three hours before your flight we SMS a pre-flight checklist for your exact phone: Cellular Data set to Travel, Home Data Roaming OFF, voice left on Home. Home roaming left on is how a landing turns into a $180 bill: we check the settings instead of hoping.

What happens at wheels-down?

One toggle: Travel line ON. You're online in minutes, and if you're still offline 15 minutes after landing, the landing is refunded: cash in 48h or 120% as wallet credit. A human texts you to confirm; no forms.

What if I need data for the whole trip?

Top up the wallet: a plain web page that loads over any connection. Bigger top-ups get cheaper per GB (1GB $3.90 · 3GB $7.50 · 5GB $10.50 for Europe), it's shareable across family devices, and credit never expires.

Why a link and not a QR code?

A link is one tap and it opens Settings by itself. A QR code needs a camera app, a scan, a confirm, and a lecture. Parents hate QR codes; the link works from the WhatsApp message you already sent them. Manual SM-DP+ codes exist as a fallback for anyone who wants them.
